Dun Dorash, the Fjordlord

Dwarf king with snow

Dun Dorash was a great leader of the dwarven people, christened the Fjordlord after guiding them to safety and founding Daal’Dorash. Once an adventurer himself, he fought against the Necromancer when his undead armies invaded their homelands, but had the sense to know when all hope was lost and retreat was the only option. He led his people across the wastes and through the Thunder Peaks, braving extreme conditions and creatures triple their size, and identified the advantages settling of on the Whisker River over digging deep into the Thunder Peaks.

He led the fight against the Daals, ensuring a home for his people. It was at the Battle of Whiskers where, due to old age and a taller, quicker opponent, was laid low on the southern banks of the river. It is said that in dying, his last shout shook the snow from the Thunder Peaks and stirred up winds and blizzards for days after. The Mountain Whisper was erected on the site of his death and he still remains an important figure in the ancestry worship of the Iron Dwarves.
