Daalish Spring

The Daalish Spring is the name given to the uprising of the Daals over the Iron Dwarves. It was orchestrated primarily by King Marius and Sidhmal, sparking after the cleaving of the Mountain Whisper and the ensuing confusion and infighting of the dwarven aristocratic class.

The populations of the two races were about even at the time, but through the positions they were enslaved in, the Daals had a much wider access to and control of the city, and when the day came to strike, many armories, blacksmiths, and storehouses were quickly swept into Daalish control with the central dwarven administration unawares. From there skirmishing in the city and the surrounding lowlands broke out, but without a central commanding figure, the dwarves were chased from the city within two days’ time, fleeing to the Thunder Peaks with the few hold outs and those who surrendered punished to slavery.

Venerable Marius was crowned king by his close friend Sidhmal only to be murdered a few weeks later by Kharn the Red, where the crown then fell to his trusted advisor.
